Pretty much status quo

Nurse shift changeover is at 730. Highlight of my day was understanding what Denise meant when she showed 3 finger. Finally figured out she was telling us she had not had a shower in 3 days and she wanted a bath. So the nurses took care of that, bird bath such that it was.

Still breathing somewhat on her own, and they will start tests tomorrow to see how well she does unassisted and work toward getting her off the ventilator. Believe me, the doctors want her off it as soon as possible, because the longer it is place, the greater the chance for infection.

She has been given a little extra sedation to assist in sleeping throughout the night tonight, and hopefully her fever will abate. Currently it is at 38.7, or 101.5F. It was as briefly as high as 104F. Although this could be due to an infection, the doctors believe it is more probably due to her marrow and immune system trying to do their thing.

Let's hope so.

Factoid: The temperature of milk when it is coming out of a cow is about 36C, or 96.8F
