Sorry I have been so lax in updating my blog. I was waiting until I had something to tell. I had my 3rd bone marrow biopsy on Tuesday, June 21st. I drugged myself appropriately prior to the test and honestly for the first time ever, it really wasn't that bad. I am not sure whether it was the drugs or the fact that a different nurse did the procedure. I was very sore the following day but that is to be expected. The following week, I skipped my blood test appt. as I was out of town and the nurse said that would not be a problem. My results from the biopsy were good. The myeloblasts dropped from 4% to 3% which is good and I am told the abnormal cells are also less. I will see the Dr. this coming Thursday and may get additional information then, but the nurse said my biopsy results were good. I started Chemo on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday) and so far so good. They took blood on Tuesday (because I skipped last week) and those results were also good. My white blood cells jumped from 9,000 to 11,600 but that is pretty normal right before Chemo. The fact that they are staying low is a good sign. That is the best they have done during a month's time since I started taking Chemo. The red blood counts stayed steady except the Hemoglobin improved from 8.58 to 8.94, which is also good. Similar to my last round of Chemo, I have been extremely tired this week and sleeping a lot. I take my last bit of Chemo over at the hospital today (my Dr,'s office doesn't do Saturday's anymore) and I will be through for this month. I expect it will uneventful except it is a pain to go to the hospital for treatment. So, appears as though I am starting to make a little bit of progress. I will let you know what the Dr. says on Thursday, as I have not seen her in 6 weeks due to vacations, etc.
Thanks for your prayers and support!
