Morning Numbers

Evidently a restful evening.

  • WBC is 720 (4500-1100)
  • Neutrophil count is 374. (1500-7800)
  • Hematocrit is 29.6 (36-46)
  • Temperature is 37.5 /99.5
  • Heart rate is 88
  • BP is 96/54
I am hoping the drop in counts will not affect getting off the ventilator today, though some up and down swings are expected. As I walked out of the hospital with the doctor last night, he told me they are planning to get her off it today, pending approval from the pulmonary doctors. If that happens, then she will have to undergo some swallowing tests to determine if they can take the feeding tube out. It usually takes a day or so for most people to be able to swallow properly after extubation.

Doctors should be here between 830-100. Will let you know what they say.
