Platelets going down

After a successful day yesterday in which Denise received "matched" platelets, her platelet count jumped from 3 to 29. Overnight, they dropped back down to 10, so we expect another platelet infusion sometime today or tomorrow.

We also had a nice visit with Jim and Charles from Annapolis, and I think their visit lifted Denise's spirits.

Factoid: President William Henry Harrison took office on this day 171 years ago. He is noted for 2 things: He delivered the longest inaugural address ever (2 hours) on a cold, rainy and blustery day in Washington with no topcoat or hat, and he was the first President to die in office, 31 days later. Cause of death was pneumonia. He was also the first sitting President to have his photograph taken.
