Should get some info today from the neurology doctors regarding the Guillan-Barre Syndrome, and where we are headed after receiving the 5 doses of IVIG.
Also, yesterday the Physical Therapy team brought in a really cool machine that gives assistance when standing. Denise essentially wore a harness, much like a parachute harness, and then was attached to this machine. The machine hydraulically lifted her from a sitting position on the bed to a standing position on the floor. It was pretty cool, and it was the first time it had been used at this hospital. Friday, they will be bringing some type of bicycle contraption that will allow her to "ride a bike" while lying in the bed in order to regenerate some of the muscle mass she has lost.
Factoid: The letter J does not appear anywhere within the periodic table of elements.
Bonus Factoid: The reason you can’t find canned broccoli is because the canning process requires veggies to be steam pressure cooked at 240-250°F, and while green beans can maintain their vibrant appearance under those conditions, broccoli florets wilt and go mushy.
