CMV

Just finished with the doctors rounds, and they informed us Denise's blood work just showed she has picked up Cytomegalovirus, affectionately know as CMV. Apparently we all are exposed to this many times over the course of our lifetimes, but it is common for transplant patients to pick it up since their immune systems are either not functioning or not fully enabled.

How this is treated will be with plasma made from many people who have had CMV previously. Think of it as a specialized form of IVIG--I will try to do some research on how much THAT costs!.

If it isn't one thing, it's another.

They had not received the bone marrow biopsy results yet, but they do not expect to find anything negative.

Factoid: There is actually a specific area of the brain known as the bilateral vomitation center. It notes when our tummy is upset and queasy, and it makes the final decision whether to barf or not to barf.
