The big 1 Liter bag on the left is Sodium Bicarbonate mixed with Dextrose. The small bag on the right is Sodium Chloride (saline), commonly referred to as salt. Notice how they both have tubes that go into the square box, which is a pump that regulates how fast the fluids are pumped into the patient. In a while, I will publish a photo of the marrow. The marrow is not pumped into the patient; it is gravity fed directly into the Hickman catheter (which Denise loves, by the way). The reason it is done that way for bone marrow is because the pump can damage the stem cells with the pumping action.
Factoid: The Q in Q-tips stands for quality. They were originally called Baby Gays.
Good old Arm & Hammer.
